About Us

We are PhantomsMD (formerly MD2B LifeScience). We are developing the next generation of medical training systems. Our mission: To make surgical training as realistic as possible—without ethical compromises. With our high-fidelity technology “Made in Germany,” we close the gap between theory and the operating room. We are a young, interdisciplinary team of medical professionals, engineers, and designers, looking for reinforcement for our vision.

Your Mission

You will dive deep into the world of medical simulation. As part of our R&D team, you will support us in not only replicating anatomical structures but breathing “life” into them.

  • Development & Prototyping: You assist in conceptualizing new phantom modules (e.g., for thoracic surgery or vascular access).
  • Material Research: You experiment with silicones and plastics to perfectly simulate the haptics of human tissue.
  • 3D Printing & CAD: You create models from DICOM data and operate our fleet of 3D printers.
  • Testing: You conduct stress tests on prototypes and document the results for certification purposes.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Studies: You are currently enrolled in Medical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Design, or a comparable field.
  • Tech Affinity: You have initial experience with CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) and ideally have operated a 3D printer before.
  • Mindset: You are not afraid of “trial & error.” You work precisely but creatively.
  • Languages: You speak fluent German and have good English skills.

Why PhantomsMD?

  • Impact: Your work won’t end up in a drawer; it trains surgeons worldwide and improves patient safety.
  • Flexibility: We know your studies come first. We offer flexible working hours and home office options where the work allows it.
  • Startup Spirit: Flat hierarchies, fast decision-making paths, and a team that is truly passionate about what it does.
  • Tech: Access to state-of-the-art hardware and software.

Sounds like you?

Then send us your CV and (if available) a portfolio of your previous projects. We don’t need a formal cover letter—we’d rather hear what drives you during a personal conversation.
