What is ATLS?
The ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) courses are organised and run by the AUC – Academy of Trauma Surgery. They teach healthcare professionals and doctors structured procedures for the initial management of seriously injured patients, with a focus on practical training.
Together with the AUC
The AUC – Academy of Trauma Surgery – is committed to quality assurance and the further development of trauma care. Through its continuing professional development programmes, it supports healthcare professionals in expanding their skills and continuously improving the care of seriously injured patients. Through our collaboration with the AUC, we have the fantastic opportunity to make our products available for the ATLS courses and thereby support these courses.
Our training models enable realistic practice of key emergency care procedures:
- HenryX – our thoracic phantom: was specially developed for training in thoracic drainage, needle decompression and pericardial puncture.
- Our cricothyroidotomy trainer: complements the airway station and enables practical training in the life-saving procedure of cricothyroidotomy.
What makes our products special: our skin
Our specially developed skin plays a crucial role in both products. It provides a human-like feel and helps to make training as realistic as possible. This is because, particularly when it comes to invasive procedures, it is important not only to understand the procedures but also to experience an authentic sensation of tissue.
Resource-efficient
With our training models, we also aim to actively help reduce waste and conserve valuable resources. That is why we pursue two key approaches:
- Fewer consumables: through a well-thought-out training concept that reduces material consumption.
- Reconditioning rather than disposal: after use, the products are returned to us and reconditioned so that they can be reused.
- HenryX – our thoracic phantom: was specially developed for training in thoracic drainage, needle decompression and pericardial puncture.
